One of the most renowned and spirited cosmopolitan cities in Asia is Bangkok. Not only a city of amazing sights and delectable cuisine but the citizens of Bangkok welcome kindly foreign visitors to indulge in their rich history. Amongst the dazzling excitement of the copious sights in Bangkok, Thailand are architectural, historic and heritage sights, industrial and military sights, markets, museums and galleries, parks and gardens, religious sights and natural marvels.

With an interior splashed golden the Assumption Cathedral is a Romanesque church created around 1910. The best schools in Thailand are associated with this red-brick cathedral. To get a great view of the city look upon the tallest and most structurally admired tower in Thailand the Baiyoke Li Tower. Although 88 stories tall an impressive observation deck on the 77th floor has rooftop bars and exquisite restaurants filled with only the most delicious Thai food imaginable as well as some international cuisine. The traditional deep fried crab ‘pomelo’ salad, Yam sôm oh puu, is incredible seeming almost unrealistic. Likewise in height the Baiyoke Sky Tower being the tallest sky scraper in the nation.

Bangkok houses an incredible amount of churches, temples and palaces which each have their own story. In the 1700s the Portuguese were given land as a gift by King Taksin and used it to build the Church of Santa Cruz. Political history lives through the Democracy Monument commemorating the transition from an absolute monarchy to a constitutional monarchy. Before the First World War Dutch engineers and architects designed and built the main station Hualamphong Railway Station in Chinatown, Bangkok. The railway has a neoclassical design with skylights of different tones and a vaulted iron roof along with other architectural delights.

Currently the royal family resides in the Chitlada Palace right in the middle of Bangkok with animal pastures and rice paddies. Botanical gardens, a beautiful large lake, enclosed living areas for animals, several eateries and a children’s playground makes Dusit Zoo a nice day trip. An enormous aquarium creates a new exciting world underwater at Siam Ocean World. Domestic artists exhibit their work at Tadu Contemporary Art.

Temples of full metal with a medieval structure like the Wat Ratchanatda temple designed 2000 years ago live to tell their story today. One of the most popular Buddhist temples in Bangkok is the Wat Sutah with its colorfully divine murals.
