New Farm

The home of Brisbane’s Convict supply farm in the early days is now the capital of café culture in this thriving city. From the New Farm deli with it’s complete Mediterranean offerings to the little larder on a quiet side street of this leafy suburb, you’ll love what the locals have taken to in their thousands.

Not just an arts and culture venue, but a great spot for coffee.
Not just an arts and culture venue, but a great spot for coffee.

Indulge yourself with a latte under the canopy of a giant Moreton Bay Fig tree at the Moray café, grab a froffy take away from the caravan in New Farm Park itself and take in the sun, head into the Powerhouse arts centre right next door or enjoy the James Street precinct you’ll learn how Brisbane’s coffee drinkers have added their own flavour to this most traditional of brews.

Bulimba’s Oxford street.

Running from east to west and leading to the City Cat dock at the very end of the street, this 1 kilometre long collection of modern and traditional architecture houses literally dozens of cafes, delis restaurants, bars and hotels. Including Otello’s traditional Italian restaurant, the Citrus Café, the Chill Bar and The Bulimba Hotel Oxford street offers cuisine and coffee of the highest calibre.

West End and South bank

Morphing the bohemian ambience of West End with the Parisian feel of South Bank’s Grey street café Precinct you will be enchanted with this inner city area of Brisbane. Take a Chai Tea at a Brisbane Legend, the 3 Monkeys café, try a double shot espresso at the Gun Shop café, sip a cocktail at Uber and watch the world stroll by while you relax in the superb open air ‘Garage café’ at Southbank, a magnet for the cycling enthusiasts of the city.

By Melbourne and Sydney standards, Brisbane was a latecomer to the café set, but I think after a short tour of these cafes and precincts you’ll agree with me that Queenslanders have enthusiastically and wholeheartedly embraced Coffee as their mainstay drink of choice! Gift Voucher from Isango
